Julian Buschmaas is the host of Talent Talks and the CEO and co-founder of be/impact. Before founding be/impact, Julian spent over four years in management consulting at BCG and Roland Berger, working on strategy and operational projects.
At be/impact, Julian helps organisations make learning more practical, human and impactful. The company enables employees to reinforce what they learn by teaching their skills to nonprofits and impact-led startups. This creates a win-win-win: employees deepen their learning, nonprofits gain access to valuable training, and businesses create measurable social impact.
Julian brings together experience across consulting, international development and entrepreneurship. He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Maastricht University and a master’s in International Development from the London School of Economics. Earlier in his career, he worked with UNESCAP on digital inclusion and gained startup experience in Berlin.
His interest in social impact began at 19, when he volunteered as a kindergarten teacher in Bolivia. Since then, his work has focused on bringing the corporate and social sectors closer together.
Across Talent Talks, he explores how leaders can build stronger cultures, better learning, and more purposeful workplaces.
Fun facts: Julian has lived in 10 cities across five countries and three continents. He speaks several languages, including English, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Outside work, he enjoys cycling, surfing and live music.
